Jamaica's Cases Suddenly Surge
As CARICOM leaders meet on Wednesday to discuss the socio-economic impact of the coronavirus on the region, an 18º North analysis shows that there were fewer new infections recorded last week than the week before for the 20 states that make up this Caribbean trading bloc.
Between April 2 - 9, 180 total new infections were recorded, 15 fewer than in the previous week of March 26 - April 2. The pace of growth more than halved to 49% from 112% for the dataset of full and associate members.
